Mahindra XUV500 Automatic due for launch tomorrow

Mahindra XUV500 loaded with features, power and style has been a popular pick in its segment. One of country's key player in the utility vehicle segment, Mahindra and Mahindra is planning on launching the Automatic variant tomorrow i.e 25th November, 2015. The company could likely source the six-speed automatic unit from Australia based Drivetrain Systems International (DSI).

Under the hood, the Mahindra XUV500 Automatic shall continue to be powered by 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The manual version generated about 140bhp of power and 330Nm of torque, the output numbers for the automatic trim could likely vary and exact numbers are unknown for now. It is also to be seen if the XUV500 could get drive modes like Normal and Winter/Wet modes that features on DSI auto transmission provided in Scorpio.

It is also unclear if Mahindra would offer Two-Wheel Drive and Four-Wheel Drive versions in XUV500 as seen on the Scorpio. It is believed that the company may offer the automatic option in the W8 variant that could cost an additional Rs 75,000 over the existing price tag. Detailed information on the automatic XUV500 trim may be known tomorrow.
