Mahindra e20 has been a successful initiative in the electric car segment, but some interested buyers were known to drop the idea owing to a higher price tag for a small car. This time around, as part of FAME India initiatives, Mahindra is indeed one the manufacturers who have announced a drop in prices for the electric vehicle option in the country. As per sources, Mahindra has announced the e2o T2 Premium starting from Rs. 4.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai) as against the earlier price tag of Rs. 6.76 Lakh. The premium T2O Quick2Charge variant that once costed over Rs. 7 Lakh, is now around Rs 5.38 lakh.

However, the battery leasing scheme shall continue to be offered at Rs. 2,999 per month. As part of new FAME or Faster Adoption and Manufacture of Electric vehicles scheme, manufacturers can avail lucrative incentives to build hybrid as well as electric vehicles.
