A number of Indian auto enthusiasts were enticed with the Jaipur Vintage Car Show, which was recently scheduled in the Pink City. Over 100 vintage cars were displayed at the show, which was organised by the Rajputana Automotive Sports Club of Jaipur in association with the Audi India. Reportedly, this club started in 1996 and initially, around 14 cars took part in the rally. And this time, the number of vintage cars participated in the event went to 104 vehicles, which were all from Jaipur. Reportedly, around 20 models also came from Delhi to mark their attendance at the event.

Expressing his views at the ceremony, the Head of Audi India, Michael Perschke was quoted as saying, “I am delighted to continue our partnership with the Rajputana Automotive Sports Car Club in Jaipur – the capital of royalty and luxury. Rajasthan, the land of Maharajas has been setting the standards for luxury in India for centuries. It is a matter of great joy to see cars after cars that have chalked down automobile history, and each car has a brilliant and glorious story to tell of its own. We at Audi love to celebrate the history and what better than the iconic Audi 100 of cricket legend- Ravi Shastri to be displayed- a car we had restored with Audi Jaipur over the last year.”

All the vintage models revolved around the streets of Jaipur, providing a unique opportunity to audience to witness the charisma of these beauties. Interestingly, owners of these models have maintained the condition of these models; however some participants complained about the unavailability of their spare parts.

Before carrying the rally of these models, an exhibition was also organised, wherein a number of iconic models were displayed. The cricket legend, Ravi Shastri also brought his 1985 Audi 100 at the rally. The main highlights of the exhibition were the spectacular cars from the films of yesteryears, along with the cars showcased in movies like Gandhi, Zubeida, Queenie, Bhool Bhulaiya and Sher.
