Hyundai India has now added a new variant 'CX' to the line-up of its mid-sized sedan Verna. This is due to increasing competition in the segment, which further got furious with the launch of fourth generation Honda City in diesel model. The company might also add some exclusive features to the top-end SX (O) variant to do well against the new City, which has come up with several first-in-class features. The CX will be positioned between the EX and SX variants of the Verna, the SX (O) with more features will continue to be the top-end variant.

The SX (O) on the other hand continues to power a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel mill, capable of churning out a maximum power output of 126.3bhp at 400rpm, while yielding a peak torque of 259.9Nm @ 1900-2750rpm.
