The Korean auto giant Hyundai seems to have entered in the final stage of development of its prospective 800cc small car as the car’s spy pictures were recently posted online by a leading auto blog. Hailed as Hyundai HA, the new small car will be pitted against the likes of volume driving mass segment cars including Maruti Alto and Tata Nano. The car will be rolled-out in the Indian market by early next year.

Based on Hyundai’s pared-down Santro platform, the Hyuyndai HA will sport an 814cc three-cylinder version of the Epsilon engine that is doing duties in Santro Xing model. Moreover, the new Hyundai HA will borrow a number of its styling and designing cues from its elder sibling Santro Xing. With segment leading fuel economy and considerably low CO2 emission level, the new Hyundai HA is expected to drive volume sales in the Indian market.

The new Hyundai small car will be positioned below Santro model in the price segment of sub Rs 2 lakh. The car will be cheaper that Alto though it would be costlier than Tata Nano. The HA model will not only strengthen the India portfolio of Hyundai but will help the company in increasing its market share in the rapidly growing Indian market.
