Raising the total count of City sedan variants to 8, the new S-AT variant will be loaded with the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine as the manual transmission variant outpouring a peak power of 118PS and a peak torque of 146Nm. However, the new variant will be heavier by 50 kg in comparison to its sibling in the S trim owing to fabrication of a heavier automatic gearshift kit. The mileage offered by the new S-AT variant is 15.6 kmpl which is lower than the 16.8 kmpl mileage produced by its manual variant.

Moreover, the new automatic variant dons all the features available with the manual variant such as chrome dash inserts, fabric seats, steering mounted controls, beige interiors and alloy wheels. Borrowing from the higher level variant V-AT, the new variant will also sport paddle shifts.

Honda is adding new variants to its existing bestselling models in a bid to offset the rising competition capturing the market share at a greater pace by offering even diesel powertrains. Honda’s existing portfolio faces a tough rivalry from Hyundai India and Volkswagen India majorly due to lack of diesel variants.
