On the day of Dhanteras, when people buy metal or metallic objects in order to be grateful to the Hindu mythological Goddess Lakshmi and Kubera, automobile industry sees a boom. Hero MotoCorp also revealed a sale of two lakh two-wheelers on this single day.

On being asked about how they felt about the increment in the sales, Mr. A. Srinivasu, head of national sales of Hero MotoCorp explained that they already expected such a response. They had already dispatched six lakh vehicles to their dealers throughout the country in order to cope with the anticipated demand. He also told that this amount of sale has been their largest so far. In order to meet the Dhanteras demands, they had manufactured an enormous number of two wheelers but there was a surplus in their stock!

They broke the record of previous Dhanteras day by an astonishing 80%, and this has been their largest sale on a single day. Hero MotoCorp is the second largest company of India in terms of selling of two-wheelers. The demand has been increasing on a daily basis and to meet up with these requirements; Hero MotoCorp has recently inaugurated a new plant at Neemrana, Rajasthan. This plant would be an addition to the other three plants spread across the country. It is also stipulated that this plant would be the most dominant two-wheel manufacturing unit throughout the country!

The sudden rise in demand and sales have benefitted Hero in all manners. Separating from Honda doesn’t seem to be a loss now with this increase in the sale. Hero estimates to achieve a production capacity of 100 million units by 2020. If the present scenario continues for a longer duration, those days are not far when we would be saying Hero MotoCorp to be the largest two-wheeler manufacturing company of India.
