Fiat’s upcoming Avventura crossover is set to be launched in India by the end of this year. Unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo, Avventura is a modified version of Evo Punto hatchback. The hatchback based crossover segment is not that popular in India, though new entrants are being inducted in the segment. Currently, Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross are available for sale in this segment, as the name suggests Cross Polo and Etios Cross are based on Polo and Etios Liva hatchbacks respectively.

Fiat Avventura- what varies it from Evo Punto?

Upcoming crossover Avventura is conceived on Evo Punto which will also make its debut in domestic market soon. Similarities between both the vehicles are aplenty, however features that contrast them from each other include body cladding present all over the vehicle, increased ground clearance and larger wheels. This in turn renders a larger semblance to the side profile of Avventura crossover. LED infused tail lamps will be offered on the crossover, while Evo Punto will come devoid of this feature. A black coloured side moulding with Avventura embossed on it will be equipped on the side profile of the vehicle.

Rear bumper sporting a different design will be affixed, other than this a rear wheel will also be mounted. Inside the cabin, additional features bestowed on Avventura comprise of bright orange accents around the dashboard that gels well with the dark grey and white upholstery. Mechanically, both the vehicles will be similar, petrol range will come housed with a .4 litre FIRE gasoline engine that is good for 90 Bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. Diesel variants will be packed with a 1.3 litre multi-jet engine that develops 92 Bhp and 209 Nm. Power will be transmitted to front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission in both petrol and diesel variants.
