DC Design, a car modification company founded in 1993 by Dilip Chhabria, has exhibited a new concept Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Tornado. According to the company, the model is a perfect blend of SUV’s off-roading capabilities with style and performance of a supercar. The recently showcased model has been based on another concept model, Imperator, which was revealed at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and is yet to be launched in the auto industry.

Coming back to Tornado, the model happens to be a four seater, which moves on 28-inch wheels, having 325/25 tyre size. The 6 litre V12 mid engine of the model has been sourced from Audi (German luxury car maker), which has the potential to belt out an additional of 25 per cent power and torque against the standard model. The maximum power generated by this powertrain stands at 497 bhp with a peak torque of 1000 Nm. In order to complement the performance oriented nature of this engine, it has been assimilated to a sequential shift transmission system, which allocates equal power to all of its four tyres.

The interiors of the model are brilliantly designed with exclusive air cushion technology. Besides, the company has incorporated a new drive, steer and brake by wire technology in its new SUV, which is sure to entice the auto aficionados. Along with these, there are several other futuristic gadgets within the model, including the rear view camera, dashboard which can be easily swapped with the press of a button, floating pedals, change of drive mode from right hand to left hand and vice versa, and among many others. The DC Designs has claimed that the Tornado SUV is counted among the fastest cars in the world; however the industry experts refused to comment on the statement.
