BMW X4 [2019-2022]

Summary

The distinctive Coupe characteristic is the unique highlight for the BMW X4 amidst the SUV lineup in India. The Sports Activity Coupe further expands the BMW X family in the country and will be locally produced in Chennai. The Coupe styled SUV is available in two diesel variants – the BMW X4 xDrive20d M Sport X and the BMW X4 xDrive30d M Sport X and in one petrol variant – the BMW X4 xDrive30i M Sport X.

Engine & Transmission

Mechanically, the 20d variant is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 190bhp of power and 400Nm of torque while the 30d variant gets a 3.0-litre inline-six diesel engine that produces 265bhp of power and 620Nm of torque. The single petrol variant is a 30i with a 3.0-litre inline six petrol engine that generates 185bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. All variants get an eight-speed AT with All wheel drive a.k.a xDrive as standard.

Interior

As for the interior, the vehicle gets premium leather upholstery, ambient lighting with six selectable light designs and a large electrically operated panorama glass roof. The welcome light carpet is projected from the side sill for that premium effect. The sporty appearance is apparent in the whole car, from the multifunction M leather steering wheel to illuminated M door sill finishers to the blue M Sport brake callipers bearing the M logo.   

Exterior

The BMW X4 features trapezoidal headlamps which are flanked by the family traditional large kidney grille. The low slung roofline along with a clear and distinct dynamic lines gives it a coupe-ish stance. The rear section features a large athletic shoulder area and wrap-around taillights with three-dimensional styling. Further adding to its sporty character, the BMW X4 features twin exhaust tailpipes, a large automatic tailgate and the expressive low-slung roof spoiler. Interestingly, all the variants are available with an M Sport X package that includes air intakes, side skirts, wheel arch trim and rear apron with diffuser insert in frozen grey. The dynamic character is further enhanced by unique 19-inch light-alloy wheels along with M designation on the sides.
