This year's Detroit Motor Show (North American International Auto Show) witnessed several new car debuts, exciting concepts and facelifts. Among the massive number of debuts, few models from Mercedes, Audi, Honda, VW and Lexus were truly outstanding. Here is a list of top 10 hottest debuts at the 2015 International Auto Show, which includes production-ready as well as future cars.
2016 Acura NSX: The production-ready NSX is one of the most-awaited luxurious cars of the year, which was showcased at the 2015 auto car show. Sharing most of its styling from the concept, the NSX gets a new longitudinally-mounted twin-turbocharged V6 engine that is good for 550bhp. The conventional engine works with three electric motors that transfer power to the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.
Chevrolet Bolt EV: The second car on our list is the Chevrolet Bolt EV concept that was showcased at the show. This all-electric hatchback will arrive in the next 2 years. 2017 Ford GT: It is one of the most important new cars that received excellent response from visitors in Detroit. The production spec Ford GT will be introduced in 2016 and will be powered by a new twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine that is capable of developing more than 600bhp of power. New Audi Q7: The India-bound new generation Q7 luxurious SUV was unveiled at 2015 NAIAS. The SUV gets new exteriors with front featuring new upright single frame grille complemented by xenon, LED or Matrix LED headlamps. Other changes include new steeply raked D-pillar, evolutionary rear end and new alloys. Inside, the SUV gets more premium and has an option of 10.1-inch tablet and a 3D Bang & Olufsen audio system. Hyundai Santa Cruz Crossover Truck Concept: Hyundai, the South Korean automaker showcased the great-looking Santa Cruz Crossover Truck Concept at the show. Infiniti Q60 Concept: This two-door concept previews Infiniti's next sports coupe. Sharing its styling cues with the Q80 Inspiration concept, the Infiniti Q60 concept gets a newly developed 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine with direct injection.
Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe: The highly-rated GLE 63 Coupe is the 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that is good for 577bhp and 77.42kgm of torque. This engine is paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels via Merc's 4Matic system. View more mercedes cars.
Lexus GS F: This performance saloon will take on the likes of the BMW M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG. Powering the saloon is a naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine that also powers the RC F Coupe and is capable of producing 470bhp of power.
Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE: Based on the familiar VW-Group MQB platform, the five-seater Cross Coupe concept is longer and wider than the current Touareg. Specifically designed for Americans, the crossover might also debut in Europe. It will feature 355 V6 hybrid petrol powertrain. View more volkswagen cars.
Mini John Cooper Works: It is the powerful version of the Cooper S three-door hot hatch. Under the hood is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder unit that makes 228bhp, which allows the MINI JCW to reach 100kmph from zero in mere 6.1 seconds.
