Needless to say, Kriti Sanon did just as she celebrated her arrival in B-Town. The debutant went on to splurge on a brand new BMW. With this move, she joined the elite list of actresses who entered the celebrity cars list with her very first movie.
BMW cars in India have had an illustrious reign in India. Recognized among fans to be among the finest wheels in the world, their offerings have had a steady following in Bollywood since years. When she moved to Mumbai, to try her luck with a film career, things weren’t as certain or bright as they are today. Expectedly, she used to move around in a set of pre-owned wheels. From those uncertain beginnings to buying her very own BMW 3 Series, the actress sure has come a long way.
A diesel powered variant, Kriti Sanon’s BMW is the 320d Luxury Line, that’s priced somewhere in the region of INR 45 Lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). It is powered by a sub-2 litre, quad cylinder diesel engine that develops over 184 bhp and redlines at 5000 rpm. The maximum torque on the car is to the tune of 380 Nm and it comes in at a low 1750 rpm. Gear shifts are via an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends all that power and torque to the rear wheels. The great thing about the BMW 3 Series is that it offers brisk motoring performance while being frugal on the fuel-consumption front. This is particularly true for the 320d which zips from zero to 100 km/h in under eight seconds, going on to post a top-speed of over 230 km/h, even as it’ll regularly return an astonishing 15-18 km/l mileage figures.
