Verna and Dzire belong to different segment. If the budget is not a constraint then Verna would always be better selection to Dzire.

Swift itself is having a marwari old lady's butt.Maruti added a marwari man's butt to that and called it Dzire.It has no character. It sells because of Maruti's low cost of ownership , achieved thru cheap plastics,thin metal panels; all swallowed by ignorant Indians who are equally obsessed with cost without bothering about safety and ride comfort. Verna is slightly better. If you truly want to go for VFM and enjoy owning a car for its looks as well as soft parameters (ride quality, safety, longevity etc) go for Fiat Linea Diesel

FIAT Punto or FIAT Lenia....prolly the most awesome diesel cars now in India..the Fiat engine is also used in Tata cars.

I did a ride in Linea Mumbai to Pune, Avg was 18.5 km/ltr.

Dzire and verna belong to two different class of cars. Dzire belong to entry class sedan while Accent is the entry class sedan of Hundai. I am a satisfied dzire owner and I cannot agree to the opinion cast by Rapillai ,owner of spark. The vehicle he is owning itself shows his capability in wrongly assessing a car. Dzire is a beautiful car in every respect and the fact that customers has to wait 2 to three months to get a dzire speaks volumes about the car. You can buy a spark off the shelf. How can Mr. Rapillay say that verna is slightly better when both the cars belong to different segments? All Indian cars have cheap plastics inside and Mr. Rapillay's spark is no exception. Anybody can crack nmegative comments about a car as long as he do not own it . Let the proud owners of dzire decide whether their car is bad or not and not a spark owner.

1.5 lacs dezire customers in 2 years is really a matter of pride for we ignorant indians .Mr.Rapillay the car u drive does not go with the kind of statement you make .A proud ignorant indian.

Dezire is a good car with an execellent engine and customers wait for 2 to 3 months after paying in advance to get this car, as far as verna is conserned its a car of different segment pricewise verna is much costlier yet better even linea is a very good car but fiat does not have own service centres remember fiat uno ,palio ,sienna fiat adventure even all these cars were execellent .now coming to mr rpillay 's comment about we indians being ignorant about cars well mr rapillay we Indians are really ignorant about cars that is the reason every damm car company in this world is dying to woo us .and this what Ford motors thought when they had introduced an outdated ford escort in india long back and miserably failed .today every indian customer is so aware that no one can fool him .had indians been ignorant fiat woudnt have introduced fiat 500 VW the beetle and every other company thier latest models in india .find what happens to a wrongly priced car in india .e.g.honda city ,civic,accord sells but jazz does not.if anybody thinks indians are ignorant today it seems he is the most ignorant person himself.

I am not getting the logic of comparing verna and dezire, As far as desire is concerned, it might have its own advantages and disadvantages, I cannot comment on that because i dont own the car, however I can asure the true value of money if anybody is going for Verna. Its the best in class with all options available. I am a proud owner of my red verna.

We cannot compare a Dezire and Verna bcz the class itself is dffrnt.If u can extnt ur pocket then go for the verna .
If ur range is upto 7,50,000 go for Dezire ZDI .
If taking verna or dezire make sure the vehicle has ABS brakes.Verna is best in looks,styling,performance,comfort and a class vehicle as compared to Dezire.
Dezire diesel is not actually cheap to own.

hi.i wouldnt want to get into the arguement.Dzire is excellent value for money.comfortable to drive.but not that great too look.IT cannot be comapred to verna as verna is a much more refined car with a much better n silent engine.U will have to drive it to believe it.Infact verna is a much faster cars then many petrol cars of the same segment.It falls in a different price range>dzire is entry level car while verna is a premium car.Though linea has better interiors than verna,but it lacks power.overal verna is the best n much above dezire n linea considering drive quality and performance.Dezire is selling in such high numbers due to its low cost.nothing else.there is nothing great about the car.i own both verna n dezire.My cousin owns a linea.I have driven all 3 cars extensively n found verna to be the best.

Hi Yogesh, if your budget is not a matter then Verna only because it produces 110ps instead of Dzires 85ps if maintainance matters then obviously Swift Dzire

Our expert mr.shiv shanker is right..verna is multiplex class and dzire is traditional theatre class...there is budgetory difference..in india you get more value for money..if you afford it blindly go to verna..otherwise dzire is always there.

at first i wanna say congrates..as u r thinking abt new car, both r different segment and thr is gud enough price difference too..if u want to buy d'zire thn better take a test drive of ford figo tdci its a nice smart car wid gr8 road grip and excellent engine( the same engine fitted in fiesta), or u can take a test drive of punto as well as maruti is using same engine..i myself using fiesta it has done more thn66000 kms and i m fully satisfied wid fiesta so i would say if u wanna spend more thn go for fiesta coz its better thn verna..take a test drive of both and feel d difference..

Go and try the Manza! Its the perfect car. Everything that a owner requires is in it. I may not own it but i can vouch for the performance of a Tata car. My friend has just bought one in black, nd its supercool! Luxury redefined. Trust me your family will lve it. :-) Hope you get the right car!

VERNA ADVANTAGE:ONE OF THE MAIN ADVATAGE IS IT IS USING VARIABLE GEOMETRY TURBO WHERE AS DZIRE IS USING FIXED GEOMETRIC TURBO,SO IN VERNA TURBOLAG IS MUCH LESS COMPARE TO SWIFT.THE SWIFT DELIVERS ONLY 75 BHP OF HORSE POWER WHERE AS VERNA DELEVERS A WHOOPING 110 PS.THE TORQUE DELVERD BY VERNA IS 235NM TO DZIRES ONLY 190 NM.
