with a driving range of around 500 km.month, should i buy a petrol or a diesel car? i am generally out of my house for abt 4 months a year at a stretch, during which time the car may be revved about once a week.
also i have a budget of abt 5-6 lacs and looking to buy a car by the end of the year, which model should i look for. we are a family of 5, looking for a hatchback only. please help

Better to go in for a petrol car, and take test drives under city / highway conditions and see for yourself what appeals to you the most.
