20000km is more than enough use per year.
you can go for diesel car also..but all depends upon your budget..

At your estimated running distance, diesel would make economic sense, and there is plenty of choice out there. Please drive all the cars you are considering, and by that, I don't mean, driving it around the block from the dealership. I mean, at least 5-10 kilometres, out on the highway. If a dealer refuses to give you a proper test drive, refuse to buy. At the end of the day, if you feel the petrol version is what you like, by all means, buy that! Cheers!

For 20K/year go for diesel.
Indica Vista quadrajet, punto, polo would be good to consider.

if every year u r going use 20,000kms than diesel could save u almost a new car cost in 3 yrs, comparing petrol.

but for diesel model it is necessary to be used frequently almost 1 time in 2 days

when u think of long term petrol is better considered, considering maintenance cost & resell value.

For the usage mentioned a diesel hatchback like that of Vista quadraget would be a good selection

Forget all the things, AND GO For THE PURE PETROL, that is PURE EXHILERATION. Petrol cars give very good mileage if driven carefully, mine giving 22 kmpl MS Ritz ZXi 2010 March Model with no maintenance at all, so u will save save on maintenance. I used WagonR and now driving Ritz And the Top ZXi variant. Think or call +919923381905 Dr. Vijay Maharashtra.

i have using diesel; for the last ten years but if you are driving 20000 km per year you would be taking atleast two years to recover the difference in price , by that time your cars value would be 50 % so whats the fun in going for such a should go for a petrol vehicle in case u want to keep the vehicle for long term use.a general view is that if run atleast 100 km per day then go for disel.
