Hi,
Currently very few hatchbacks with Auto Transmission available are Hyundai i10 1.2 Magna,i20 Asta. Wagon R.
The advantage of Automatic transmission are the ease of operation.

Generally the mileage of AT version is lesser by 1 or 2 KMPL. Maintenance of AT version is quite easy as frequency of repairs is less. However if undergoing any repairs then cost could be bit higher compared to that of MT versions.
Manual transmission has the advantage of easier maintenance.It will be easy to operate with frequent usage.Also Price will be lesser by around 40k.

You are likely to enjoy your driving without having to shift gears. No jerks, easy in city traffic conditions. But you cannot control the engine revolutions like you can do in a manual transmission. Whatever gear the car chooses for you, that's what you are stuck with. Mileage in automatic cars is lower by 10 to 20%. In city traffic, with a small hatchback, you'll probably get 2km/litre less.

i-10,i-20 and Wagon R is having automatic Transission system. Average depends on Traffic conditions. On the highway it is less by 1to 2kmpl while in city it coud be less by 2 to 3kmpl.
