The best way to save money on a bike or car is by not riding it. However, if you must ride it - do not accelerate hard or brake suddenly, ride it at the right gear for every speed, be smooth in your shifts, anticipate stops. Cheers!

Also make sure your tyres are always at the right pressure. Lower pressure will reduce fuel mileage. Don't fall for mechanics telling you to use expensive engine oil. There are many factors involved which affect mileage. One is riding style, your own weight, how you maintain your bike, your tyre pressure, fuel you use, etc. The older a vehicle gets, it has to be refurbished for whatever is worn out otherwise you will not get the original mileage. People feel, why spend on old vehicle BUT this statement is very wrong. Maintenance is an ongoing affair and one cannot skip it. It has to be done on time. Then a 10 year old bike will also perform and deliver like a new one.
