i want to buy an automatic car budget is about 5 lakhs , usage is long distance. maintainence is a major issue i have read about on the net and the word is that india doesnt offer much service on that front , please advise as i would love to drive an automatic being technically challenged - thanks merlin

In the budget range mentioned you can get a automatic transmission version Hyundai i10.

Hi Shania,
For your budget of 5L, you can get a Hyundai i10 Automatic or a used 2004-05 model Toyota Corolla Automatic. And, dont be worried on the service front, both these cars are very reliable & have good after sales service from their respective companies. Though, its true, that automatic models are not very popular in India, but things are changing very rapidly.
