I own a fz-s(2009) done 9500kms. i am looking for more punch in the bike. acceleration as well top speed.
1. i have installed a K&N filter n bigger jet and also removed the catalyct converter but ther's hardly a change that i can feel.the top speed has decreased though.
2. what is porting and can it increase the performance of my bike?how much will it cost?
3. at KRP, delhi they told me to install a 30mm carburetor. is it ok doing that n by how much will the performance increase. and what kind of carburetor should i install?
4. as yamaha has also launched its racing kit for the fz. a yamaha dealer in delhi told me that by installin the exhaust offered by yamaha the top speed will go to 150kmph(ridden by experts) and around 140kmph(normal rider)sounds fake but your guidance required.
is there really so much difference?
5. what engine oil should i use for better performance.earlier was using yamahalube20W40 (mineral) & rite now i am using yamahalube 15W50 (semi-synthetic) offered at yamaha but didnt find a difference in the performance.
6. does any changes made to the valves also add to the performance & what kind of changes can be done..
finally i am looking for more acceleration and top speed.(120-125+) if possible
please guide...

thanks..

Hi Prabal,

First of all, to get the maximum out of your bike you need to get thorough performance modification, if you do things in parts it wont help you much, it has to be done together. And for a thorough performance enhancement you can utilize the Yamaha's Racing kit as all the commitments made by the Yamaha you will get the maximum out of your bike for sure.

So far engine oil is concerned, world over synthetic oil is preferred for performance but with the limited availability you can opt the semi synthetic oil as you have mentioned you are already using Yamahalube. As I have mentioned earlier you will feel the remarkable difference in performance only after using the proper modification/ modified racing kit.

Hope you got the answer.

AN ORDINARY RIDDER CANT DRIVE OVER 100 .. ONLY RACER CAN REACH ABOVE 120 .. IT IS A VERY DIFFICULT TO DRVE ABOVE 120 AND ALSO VERY DANGEROUS ..
BY ANY KIND OF ALTERNATION IN YAMAH U CAN INCREASE SOME MORE SPEED 20/30 .. BECAUSE YAMAH ALSO GIVE PRIORITY TO SPEED AND BEAT ,, THEY DO ALL MATTERS FOR IT , SO NO WORK IS MORE TO DO EXTRA .. PL BE SATISFY WITH ORG. SPEED .. SYN,OIL IS FOR SMOOTH RIDING ONLY , NOT FOR SPEED INCREASEMENT

Hi,
For increasing top speed further you can go for Yamaha racing kit withsuitable mdification. It will be profitable if you are using the bike for racing purpose. In general riding the top speed of 100 or even upto 115 KMPH or sois more than enough as youwil be taking huge risk with speed of over 100 KMPH.Though it works out good in highway, in city driving you will be hardly crossing 80KMPH and Yamaha FZ Series is awesome in performance.Hence recommended to go for racing kit if its is essential. wWwith usage of using of ordinaly engine oil as recommended by Yamaha is good enough and for boosting performance and life of engine using of synthetic il is better.
