Hi,
The 2001 Ikon if maintained well and available at genuine priice then its worth going for the same. Maintenance will be around 3k per service,it can vary largly depending upon the problems arising at that time. In general the pats of Ikon is on sloghtly higher side compared to that of other cars in its segment.

Going for LPG kit wont help much though the fuel price and mileage works out to be cheaper in initial stages, the maintenance cost go up in long run and hence nullifying savings at initial stages. Hence not recommended to go for the same.
In overall Ikon is a good option but not with LPG kit.

thanks a lot for a quick reply shiva. what mileage i can expect in city and in highway from ikon? and 115000 is worth buying a 2001 ikon? condition is good and serviced in authorised showrooms only. how many kms makes service due. as am owning 800 which is far comparision with ikon am frustrated making a decision. kindly help me out

Hi,

As ur driving is hardly 30kms per day, i think better to not to fit LPG Kit as kit itself will cost u more than 30K & it will accumulate most of ur Dicky space too, as LPG usage will increas Ecess Heating of Engine which leads to major overhaul of the engine which is not advisable.

As per my knowledge, ikon is one of the best car for reliable fuel consumption, & as ur usage is very less, u can utilize the 30K of the gas kit for putting petrol & servicing for atleast next 3 years.
