SX4 is Petrol and Verna is Diesel. Considering mileage drop in any AT cars, in SX4 the fuel consumption is more and so your monthly bills.
Both are 4 speed ATs, should offer you value for money. If you like the looks of Verna (Egg shell design), I would recommend, The engine is refined and the service from HI should be great.
If you like SX4 and going for Petrol is not a problem, you can choose it. You will not regret buying any of the two.

The class leader in this AT sedan segment is Honda, go only if you want to invest the extra for the H badge.

go for sx4 coz of its new styling and good macho looks. otherwise if running cost is the issue than go for the diesel verna.

Though initial investment for Verna diesel is more thatn SX4, it will be of good value for the money invested with respect to performance and also long term usage.
