i have santro xing 2005 xg with CNG fiited in april
i have santro xing 2005 xg with CNG(fiited in april 2009).Its giving white smoke while start on petrol and eat engine oil,when checked with mechanic, mechanic said its engine needs to be oevrhaul, My question is that what precaution i take when engine will overhaul and after after overhaul of engine , it works fine or not, Pls give your valuable suggetions

The Excessive oil consumption could be due to Rings wear out and hence needs overhaul.Make sure car is handled by trustworthy mechanics and service ceterand get detailed bill including parts replaced and labour charges.After overhaul of the engine it may take some time for setting as with new engines. Do not overhaul at local garage. pl. check with Authorised dealer. There will not be any problem after overhaul. The engine will work like new but you need to spend at least 15 thousand for that. ensure that you are changine pistons as well as other parts like timing belt, oil pump. Local garage can change only rings and reduce bill but this will be temporary solution.

White smoke is almost always a sign of engine oil burning in your combustion chamber. One of your cylinders or more is definitely not providing the combustion integrity it was designed for. Depending on the age of your car, this could be a case of rings that need to be replaced, or an engine block/gasket problem. It is true that your engine has to be examined, which will lead to an overhaul.

u did not mentioned that how much kilometer the car has been covered... if it is more than one lakh then staright go to any authorized service centre to get you car engine overhauling with genuine spares. I am also agreed with the expert

In simpler terms WHITE smoke is due to when consumption of fuel does not happen in a proper manner, technically your engine piston and piston-rings need to be replaced, it might also be due to leakage(energy created to run the engine from fuel) from engine valves. you can call me at 9931529297. i specialize in engine n engine-spares n run a workshop.
