Thanks for your valuable information. Actually, I am planning to buy a small car. I am a bit confused, b/w a new company fitted CNG car or a second hand car. The company is charging around Rs40- 50k extra for CNG model. On the other hand, the local dealers in market are charging Rs20- 25K for CNG conversion, which is almost half. I am concerned about safety measures, thinking from all prospectives.

Please help.

Any day it is advisable to go for a factory fitted CNG model than the local fitted even though the price is higher, but look at the pioece of mind and after service issues.

Yes the same answer given above. You cannot compare outside CNG work with the manufactures. THey do the best job and you have to pay for their expertise and correct functioning.
Just find out whether CNG is available at your city and your running distances before you decide.

I beg to disagree with the above two responses. A really good CNG or LPG outfitting garage will do an excellent job. These days there are also cylinders that fit neatly and do not take up space and compromise on the elegance of the car. In my opinion, it is not worth spending the extra half of the CNG/LPG just because the factory is doing the job. If their process is that good and efficient, they should be charging you less than an outside modifier, right? So, why are they fleecing you? Also, it is not such a complicated thing to change. Save your money and you have the running costs taken care of for a few years!!!

Hi,
Aa used car with CNG fittment would be better option for its cost effectiveness and the same can be resold in case of discomfort in usage. However if going gor new car,in perspective of long term usage it will be better to go for a company fitted CNG versions as there will be good warranty back up .
