First of all Tata doesn't make good cars.
Second as far as milage is concerned i have TDI and it is giving me 13-14 in city and 17-18 on Highway.

But I will strongly oppose buying TATA cars, you will have tears in your eyes once you buy it.

Hi v.nagappan ,

First you have to decide you wanna go for Petrol or Diesel. I will suggest Diesel coz once you pay around 50k more but then you have comfort for rest of the days ahead. Its so economical and you have good resale even after 5-6 years. In city too Diesel cars give better mileage. Petrol will wipe you away with lots of cash and u will think twice before going on a long journey.

i10 is totally a different car from Swift and Vista. i10 has good interiors, but you pay high premium for that. Plus i10 has lesser boot space and rear space... But when I test drived it and viewed it I dint find any value for money...

Swift is tried and tested and long running proven model...But it demands a higher premium for Maruti brand name. I felt I cant pay 7-80k more just for Maruti's brand name. As Indica Vista offered me same or more features than Swift for 70-80k lesser amount. Moreover both had engine supplied by FIAT and Vista has even gearbox from FIAT, but Maruti has its own gear box. The TDi engine is tested in Indigo since many years.

I bought car on 2nd July and the whole process of purchasing was smooth. After that I have droven more than 1000kms and its really smooth. Its too comfortable that u dont realize that u r driving a car. In the rear seat more than 3 people can sit comfortably. I dint get any problem from the dealer and the first service and 1 free check up was smooth. The car runs like a river flow. In city u have a great driving pleasure.

Yesterday, I drove Santro of my relative and it was like downgrading from 150cc bike to LUNA or SCOOTY... The relatives and friends who drove and looked my Vista after my purchase were too happy. They said we realized that we are driving CAR, before we were driving TRUCKs (actually they have Santro, Alto, etc.)

U will get i10 Era Petrol for 4lakhs on-road price. For the same price u get a Diesel Model Indica Vista Aqua 1.4 TDi... Swift will cost you 5lakhs. So its better to have Indica Vista Aqua 1.4 TDi and Diesel always has better resale price. Plus Vista has also features of Sedan and if u can pay some more go for Aura Quadrajet. You will never regret your decision and all wil envy you, even Swift owners. Aura costs 5lakhs approx. And TATA has improved a lot on Customer Service front. They call after each service for feedback and punish the responsible employees for any faults. You get regular calls from TATA in which they inquiry how your car is running. So you can file any of your complaints there.

Even my monthly run is less than 1000 kms, but I bought Diesel version thinking of future. Coz you never know when your usage goes high. Some day you can plan to go from Mumbai to Delhi or to Goa or to Pune or to any Hill Station. That time Petrol will cost you much. But if you are sure that you will have limited monthly run then you can surely go for Petrol. In that case go for Petrol + LPG, and the options available are Spark, Wagon R Duo, Indica Xeta or Santro. And I looked at all this and Spark at 3.60 lakhs was a deal. Wagon R costs 3.70 lakhs but Spark has beige interiors and more space plus Power Windows, Fog Lamps and Central Locking. LPG will be beneficial if you go on long drive else for smaller runs Petrol is always available.

But LPG has a risk involved always as it catches fire easily. so considering 3.7 of Wagon R you just pay 35k more to get Indica Vista Aqua 1.4 TDi Diesel model... In this 35k u get rear defrogger, front fog lamps, tubeless tyres, front power windows, tilt steering, more space..

If u wish to go for Saffire, then u will have all the features with latest technology and at a lesser price. The driving comfort of Indica Vista is same in all Diesel and Petrol Versions...Just the engine changes...

Hi,
Indica Vista makes a good selection for its updated features, performance build quality and not to forget interior space.Though lacgs a bit in terms of interiror plasticity, it offers good value for money. There is no problem in getting serivice and parts.

definitely, its a great car.....remember 1 thing,1st u hve 2 know abt the aftersales servise at your place......if it is gud, then tata cars r the best on indian roads......except the poor plastic quality, there is no problem....Though problem arise sometimes,bt here the after sales service is so gud, that they com 2 our home n take the car themselves, fix it...isnt that great???so if the service is gud,go for it blindly.....it has 2yr+2yr extended warranty(on every mechanical & electrical part)
if ur budjet is around 5 lacs,go for vista quadrajet aqua,if less budjet, then tdi aqua is a great option....dont go for tata petrol cars, the milage is pathetic.......
my vista tdi gives me milage of around 16 kmpl...
