Hi,
Auto transmission works on the principle of fluid power.By varying the the flow of fluid te torque transmission can be varied.
The advantages are
1.Absence of clutch pedal which reduced fatigue for driver to press clutch pedal each time for changing gears.
2.Ease of changing gears.
Disadvantage are
1. High initial cost.
2. Slight reduction in mileage.
