The best thing to do will be to go for a Maruti 800.You can fairly good conditioned 800 and maintenance is also comparitively cheaper.

Buy Brand new Tata Nano or you will get M 800 of 2000, Fiat palio with LPG,or opel of 2000 with LPG or CNG if available in your region.

The Maruti 800 is a basic entry level cute car, that rocked the nation couple of decades back. The car owever isnt very safe specially at high speeds. For practical purposes , its almost a zero maintenance car, the only caveat being regular servicings. The mileage given is excellent too, it being a small car. Select a non accident vehicle with clear papers.

The Fiat Palio is a fantastic car, very safe , very sturdy on the Indian Roads and gives you the feeling of driving and safety of a big vehicle, sitting space is superb. This one too doesnt require heavy maintenance , though part costs are high, if the vehicle needs to go for repairs. You can try buying a non abused Fiat Palio 1.2 and not a 1.6 pl. Tata Motorsservice stations now service , repair the Fiat Cars pan India.

Avoid big used cars of you are a first time buyer as these may rip your wallet due to heavy costs for parts and labour associated with them .
