i am ready to by a car but confused between ritz and fiat

If you want to play safe then Fiat might not be the car you are looking for. At this price point the real options are Ritz 1.2 or Hyundai i20 1.2

I have driven both the cars, So take a wise decision and stick to the market leader Maruti Ritz. Car is spacious(not as much as Punto is but sufficient for most sane purposes) the Engine is SUPERB and fuel efficiency is way above what Punto offers and last and most important one - After Sales Service, which no doubt is no. 1 of Maruti and no. 2 of Hyundai.

Moreover, Punto 1.2 is 8V SOHC historical engine whereas the 1.4 will be costly and does not offer much practical difference on road. But if you can stretch your budget then Punto 1.3 Diesel or Tata Vista QJD is what you would enjoy but then again, they are diesels :-(

Dear Dhananjay,

Maruti is proven technology on Indian roads complimented impeccable service network across the geography. Fiat has an excellent product but has failed miserably on service and replacement part costs.

If you are a first time buyer, sincere advise is go for a Maruti. Do check the Swift too. Its a superb car. Check for all the details that you are needing in a hatchback. test drive both and take a decision.

I dont know what fiat failed in but I myself m driving fiat from last 7 years and I am going to buy my next car in August and it will be fiat again.I never got any problem related to service or anything. if there was fiat is changing that thing with an aggressive manner. Punto is the car which is more practical and you will love to solid build of the car. If you want to leave a world class car just because of past experience then thats your choice but if you want to turn heads and enjoy your drive go for Punto.
