Hi,
Though Hyundai Accent might be discontinued, it will have good resale value for the quality of car.Inthe budget range mentioned Swift Dzire will be a good selection.

However if you have a car you can postpone for a while as there are many cars to be launched in another two months.

At present ddis diesel engine is most popular engine in india so maintinance of engine will be cheaper then any other diesel engine . accent is going to discontinue very soon

Dude i will suggest go for Accent as that car has still looks compared to Dzire... Dzire really sucks in looks. Instead of dzire i will say go for Linea that car rocks...

Dzire looks are so wierd...

Hi Aditya-You are in the same dilemma that i was 6 months ago. Fact is - the dzire is much more than just a boot on the swift - its got better back seat space (check out the back seat on both the cars and you will feel the difference), the vxi comes with a great trim fabric, NVH levels are extremely low - making it a very very silent cabin, the extension of boot and hence overall length and weight makes it extremely stable on the highway, the boot size is also great at 440 litres. Issues with the accent are - outdated design, generation old engine, very low seats, the length makes parking and driving in heavy traffic a problem, very low mileage, and not too great interiors. I have a swift dzire VXI for the last 3 months and i just love it. I have done more than 3500 kilometres - out of which 1000+ are on the highway - done speeds in excess of 130 KMPH, average of 13.5 in the city with AC on. A terrific value for money car.
