Considering all parameters including space , utility etc Dzire VDI will be a better choice.

this one is a no-brainer. Why spend 6 L on a hatch when you can spend the same amount for a "sedan" tht too with one of the best diesel engines tht you can get. The Dzire is what you should go for - you will get used to the looks over a period of time, if that is your concern

You can definitely go for Swift Dezire VDi which has got one of the best Diesel Engine...and has got exellent performance. Overall its from Our Maruthi Suzuki... So no more doubts u can go for Swift dezire...

Piyush - Do test drive the new ford ikon diesel..
The onraod price is 6.15 lakhs and its fully loaded version.Its got probably the best diesel engine(The 1.4 Duratorq Fiesta engine)
I brought this car in Nov 2008 after selling my swift diesel.I am just loving this car.I drive 35km every day and my monthly diesel bills are less than 2000Rs.
I got my first free service 2 days ago and it cost me Rs 30!!!

Suggest you look at FIAT Linea instead. End of the day, you dont spend 6.50 only for value for moni right & whats value for moni by the way. How does one define ie? If it was cheap, you could buy a good 2nd hand car for 1lac. Please forget the experts & comments and the like, you go an take a hard look at the cars, test drive them and decide which ones is best. Remember that what is popular is not necessary the best.

Swift dezire anytime if 40k is no problem for u. but if u prefer a hatchback then better than i20 is the hatchback swift vdi
