I had booked a vehicle & signed RTO registration form. The dealer got the vehicle registered. Subsequently, I found defect in the vehicle & refused to take the delivery. In this case , does RTO registration amount to constructive delivery of vehicle to me?& can the dealer compel me to take the veicle?

As the RTO registration is also got done, the vehicle is assigned to you, you are virtual owner of the car and hence dealer may force you to take(after convincing with all techniques) delivery of the car. However ultimately you have the option to take or not to take delivery of the car.If rejected, you would have to bear loss of money depending upon dealer policy and considering legal factors as applicable.

Generally as its about purchasing the car you have wanted, its recommendable to take delivery after ensuring perfect condition of the same through dealer and regional manager of the manufacturer certification.
