I am 42, and a middle class govt servant (Engineering) owning a Bajaj Chetak (15yrs old)for my single journy and a Maruti 800 (5 yrs old)for family trips.

Now I am planning to replace my scooter with "A VALUE FOR MONEY BIKE" that suit my following requirements: 1)Travel include 30% within city and 70% Highway - monthly average 1500 Kms (2)100 Kms single stretch trips twice a month (3) Not particular about brands or looks (4)Strong durability as I would use this bike for 10+ years (5) GOOD MILEAGE is a factor (6)I would opt electric start and spoke-less tyres (7) My budget is Rs 50000/- ex showroom.

If you don't mind, look for a less run Honda Unicorn. It will serve you well and never give up. Or go for a Yamaha SZ. Honda and Yamaha have engines that/ll last long.

Bajaj Platina - it is so difficult to find a second hand Platina, the owners just do not want to part with them.

Bajaj Platina-100 or 125 cc bikes are most economical bikes and gives 70 KM/Per Ltr.average in city ride what else required. I am using platina 100 cc bike since last 4 years and 2 months back I purchased new Platina-125 bike both I very much satisfied. Go for bajaj only.

hello mr.ajit, as per ur request honda bikes will be the most perfect fit for ur purpose, there are other factors u have to consider and think about, if u want a small modernday bike which is produced in india now the quality is not that great to use it 10+ years its ideal to go for a good investment and change the bike every 5-6 years maximum, because the bike which comes not for durability to withstand so many years and most of them are made out of plastics to save different costs , so if ur investing on a motorcycle in india go for a high quality and more refined engine to be more practical.... take care
