Your radiator fan must be rotating in wrong direction.

Hey thank you all for your time.. But that info was not fully satisfying my issue.. yesterday afternoon when i left from office the engine temp almost reached the peak and i was so tense that the engine is gonna seize now i see the water level has gone low.. I went home and took the car out again in the night filled water and started.. within 15kms radiator started boiling and i checked water level again to my surprise the colour of water is muddy grey.. !!! and the engine doesnt want to cool down.. I halted for 15 mins and started car again now the engine was fine and I reached back home somehow.. And to test i tried AC as well.. It works fine. Add: If the Engine temp raises it nears the red mark and comes down within 1 minute.. its up and down often. please suggest if it could be radiator fan or some sensor to be checked? Approx how much would it cost me?

Hi,
The vehicle needs to be serviced, service people will take care of radiator flushing, the auxiallary tank, confirm working of thermostat and temperature switch etc.Service cost could be around 1 to 2K and vary depending upon replacement of spares if any.

you car needs to be examined and serviced thoroughly, the cost at dealership end will be too much but still you can go there and ask them to examine and service, they will let you know about what is the main problem and if they cost you not too much you can go ahead, otherwise try to find good local mechanic as such mechanics in majority do work very well with low cost. since you car is diesel i recommend you to immediate take care of it.

Check coolant level and any coolant leakage may lead to this problem and radiator fan is not working or wrong direction, thermostat etc., for this as expert mentioned need authorised hyundai service mechanics/shops/ thorough checking of the car, better do it at the earliest to save the engine from future problems.

Hi there, as your car is with radiator issues, check for the below:

1. Check the water level daily.
2. While driving do not throttle much. Accelerate the engine slowly.(Preferably when the AC is ON)
3. Do not put the AC at the highest. Put in the middle or at Low depending upon the number of people and the climate conditions around.
4. Most necessarily, find if any rust formed in the radiator.

How to check the rust in the rediator:
1. Put the Engine ON, open the radiator cap.
2. Fill with water to the fullest slowly.
3. Water overflows.
4. Stop filling the water.
5. Water goes into the radiator and a gap gets created.
6. Fill water again to the fullest.
7. Turn off the engine for about 20 seconds and restart.
8. If the water with rusty nature comes out, then go for a new radiator (no escape).

Try the above steps before going for new radiator and for the radiator flush.

If the rusty water does not comeout, then go to the service center and have the radiator inner pipes and pipes connecting the radiator and the reservior checked and/or flushed.

Always have a 12 litre drinking water container if you are on highways for over a distance of 800 KM(in total). CRDi consumes much water at these siuations.

Good luck,
Shiva,Hyderabad.
