Hi, I Pavan want your experts to give me valuable suggestion for buying a Petrol car. My choices Skoda Fabia Ambient .How much mileage we will get in city n highway condition (show room people are saying in city 14 and highway is 16 to 17 is this correct,) I had already done the test drive, iam complete happy with the driving comfort, driver view and leg room space and rear seat space and boot space and good futures but i am worried and confuse about maintains cost and parts cost and service. Show room people are saying, They are giving 3yrs free services including extended warranty and per service only 3,500 to 4k in Hyderabad.(Hyderabad On road price is 5lcas 70k including all discounts)
Please suggest me if any one fabia owner which is already using petrol version

Thanks and Regards
Pavan

if you are satisfied with this car, then you can go ahead with it,however service and maintenance would be high as compared to others.
cost of spare parts are too high like clutch plates for rs12k approx.

all cars of 1.2l segment delivers not more than 13kmpl in city.

if you are just going for skoda brand then fabia is a good choice otherwise try any other car for its reliable service and low maintenance

Hi Pavan,

Good to know that you are value buyer rather than opting for looks. Fabia no doubt seems to be absolutely fantastic option to choose from the wide variety of cars in its segment. Choosing a Petrol Vehicle makes me gauge that you would be having limited usage or rather not extensive usage. Looking at current petrol prices & anticipating the future petrol prices too, I would rather suggest you to opt Maruti Swift VDi. Too good maneuverability, excellent handling & the best product for your hard earned money. Choosing a diesel car rather than petrol car is the call of the hour. Gone are those days when you used to get crimpy hard core diesel engines that use to make your body dance to its tune. Lots of people currently are opting diesel cars as compared to petrol ones. My suggestion would be to play safe bet over - Maruti Swift Zdi.

Hi Pavan,
Its good that you have an option of buying Fabia... I have used Fabia petrol sometime back the old engine(Not what currently available in market) it really sucks does not give you more than 10KMPL in City and 13-14KMPL in highway. However the current Petrol engine is Volkswagen Polo engine and it gives you better mileage than previous. Currently I am using Fabia 1.2L Diesel and I have driven Petrol also both are almost same in driving comfrot, road grip and handling. I think there is not other car in the market to beat Fabia. I20 is also good but even it gives you same mileage as Fabia but I feel Fabia is a right choice because of its quality built and interiors. I think i20 cannot meet any where with Fabia. Coming to swift except the maintanence part I dint like any thing in Swift, boaring interiors and looks are almost same as Fabia but still i prefer the brand. Also I agree the maintenance of Fabia is more compare to any other car bcoz of its non-localized parts, however now current Fabia is 60-70% localized compare to older version hence it shd not be any problem. Also I can bet you that, once you own Skoda car you will not think of any other car(like Maruti/Hyundai/Tata/Fiat) to drive since Skoda the best driving quality and build. So I think what we are getting for from Skoda is worth buying.

hi pavan,

i bought a fabia last year and the car is simply awesome. however i cannot comment on the average of the currently sold cars. my car gives me approx 10.5 in city and 12 on highway. but the new engine claims to give an mileage of 12-13 in city and around 15-16 on the freeways. as everyone told you the built quality, stability and the comfort cannot be compared with any other car in this class including i20. the swift is nowhere near the fabia as far as interiors and quality is concerned. the resale value for the skoda brand is good and it you would definetly be satisfied with your buy.

Mr Pavan, I have a Jan 2010 Fabia which has been sparingly used. It gives 10 km/lt in city and 12-14 on highway. Ride quality, Road grip and safety features are like those of a luxury sedan.I dont know about the recent "Indianized" version but we are very satisfied with the original older model of Skoda Fabia.

Hi,
Considering overal factors such as mileage, investment, service back up,spares cost etc, going for Hyundai i20 would be better selection. However if maintenance is not a constrint then Skoda Fabia would certainly give satisfactory performance.

hey hello i am realty fascinated by skoda cars so i can say this yes the skoda fabia is really giving 13-14 in city with a/c and its highway mileage is good by 17 so don't hold and get a super premium hatch for your sedan interior feel. I promise that it will keep you out of your pocket.
