I'm also suggesting you to go for Alto because of its resale value,low maintanance and better milleage. Comparing with Alto, Santro have more space in the boot and the dicky area, While you are going for an outing and all it will help you to carry all the things and enjoy the ride comfortably.

he wants to buy a second hand car. i don't think chevy beat is available much in the second hand market. you could easily find an alto or santro though.according to me,santro xing would be the best option due to the boot space and better interiors and seats than the alto. since you plan to use it for family outings too,you should go for the xing IMO.you could easily find one below 2 lakh range.
