Hi i am planning to buy a new car for my household purpose.All together we are 4.My choice is to go for Small Diesel Segment car (as i know that load bearing capacity for Diesel engine is more than Petrol engine).My preference is Swift or Ford Figo.But my father is no where showing interest for Diesel Variant (He wants me to go for Petrol Variant).Could you please let me know whether i should buy Petrol Variant or Diesel Variant.
Daily Usage = 50 Kms
Monthly Once or Twice drive around 150 to 250 Kms.

Hi,
For the usage mentioned Petrol version would be better.Advantages are the lower initial investment by 1 lakh or so for respective variant in diesel version. If your usage is 50KM then you can choose Diesel, I think your father is not aware of latest Diesel Crdi technology, I have Maruti Ritz Diesel and i use it only 40Km a day and i am happy with it. Now a days diesel engines are not expensive to maintain.Please test drive the Swift Diesel once along with your father, the o to 100km speed takes only 13.5Sec in Diesel and 12Sec in Petrol.
If you look style and performance then choose Swift Diesel. If you look value for money then choose Ford Figo diesel. Yes Diesel is expensive initially and will compensate you within 5years and the resale also will fetch you atleast Rs50,000 more then a Petrol model. Posted: 4578 day(s) ago |
