TVS Wego
The Scooter segment in two wheelers is a very well established segment. Advantages such as ease of handling,storage space and importantly the leg space for rider - very comfortable for ladies - makes it one of the most important segment in automobile industry. Recently TVS has launched new the scooter Wego, claiming various innovations meant to allay disadvantages of the scooter. Let's take a look at the new TVS Wego.
Wego Overview
TVS Wego features a 4 stroke single cylinder, air-cooled engine of 110cc which delivers power output of 8PS, and Torque 8NM. The Wego comes with V matic Transmission and is priced at Rs 50600 (On road Bangalore). Colour options include Cappucino Brown, Golden Beige, Midnight Black, and Sporty White.
Exteriors of TVS Wego
The most striking thing of the Wego is the indicator lamp design. It is made in shape similar to that of eyes. Usage of clear lens head lamps and indicators gives it a refreshing look. Sharp cornered front wheel cover and fender cover extending to front portion gives not only good styling but also good protection thanks to stronger metal body used in Wego compared to other models of TVS Scooters.
Other parameters like curvy shape introduced for rear fendor makes the Wego quite distinguishable.
Other features of Wego include Optical guide LED tail lamp, which adds to the on road image. Combination of battery and mobile charger is good though a common features in most of the scooters these days. Other features like Ignition key glow and easy to operate center stand add good convenience compared to difficult to apply center stand for most of the scooters.
The Wego's Instrument cluster features common speedometer, KM reading and fuel level indicator.
There is a single key provided for opening of both seat and fuel lid. By turning right seat can be opened and by turning to left fuel lid is opened. Provision of external fuel lid as against the one provided in most of scooters is a good improvement
Dynamics
The main drawback of scooters is the inability to take sharp turns with which chance of skidding is very common. Overall balancing of a scooter matters a lot to overcome this drawback. TVS has also put good effort regarding the same and claims the Wego has a well distributed body weight, giving a steady and stable ride, and retains good balancing even with pilion riders.
Comparision
The main competition for Wego is from Honda Activa, Mahindra Rodeo, and Suzuki Access.Comparitively Suzuki Acces has higher power and also higher ground clearance of 165mm as against 145mm for Wego, The Activa and Mahindra rodeo feature less ground clearance. Mileage-wise there is no huge difference due to inherent properties of scooters such as weight, placement of engine, higher wind resistance compared to bikes etc.

Test Drive of Wego
After checking the different features of Wego, we took it for a test drive. True as claimed by TVS, Seating is pretty good , for rider and starting was easy due to electric start. Handling of the scooter is pretty easy thanks to the extra care and balanced dynamics. Braking near humps was never tiresome and humps don’t hit the underbody due to good ground clearance of 145MM provided. The bike can pick up pretty quickly and can reach up to 80KMPH in otherwise good roads without much traffic.
The common drawback with scooters such as discomfort for rear pillion rider still persist with Wego. For example in rear seat there is good place for left foot and right foot has to be placed near the rider legs. Of course, this does make it easy for pillion rider to enjoy and converse. If the pillion rider needs more space then the rider has to move forward which means he/she has to drive pretty slowly for better balancing. This is the common problem that has to be overcome by scooter manufacturers.
Conclusion
TVS Wego is another scooter offering tough competition for its competitor makes such as Suzuki, Honda, Mahindra etc. The fact that TVS models are well established and are supported by a wide dealership and service network should boost the sales.

TVS WEGO is a good scooter without self start. The self starter will functions up to 6 months only. The battery used in this scooter is of bad quality and it won't work properly in the guaranty period itself . The dealers will not replace the battery instead of they charge it and return to the customer till the guaranty period is over . then after we have to replace the battery at our own cost.
As an owner of TVS wego I will definitely dis-encourage everybody from buying a TVS wego. TVS is cheating the customers by using spurious battery. But all other features of WEGO are excellent too. Sudhathottasseril (January 17, 2012, 18:55)

I think wego is best. giving good milage of around 60Km. in city.

I bought TVS wego six months ago and I am satisfied with the performance as its powerful and the ground clearance is amazing.. Stating was an issue but I got the battery checked and everything is working fine till now.. My wife finds it very sexy and comfortable..

Hi guys it is very simple,
If power is your priority go for suzuki access. If fuel efficiency your priority go for Honda access. If ride and handling is your priority go for TVS wego. Other features are more or less same with all the above. All of them are extremely reliable. Suzuki access is bigger and has power ful engine so it is an excellent family mover. Honda activa is an allrounder and it has proved that it is a trouble free scooter. TVS wego has a stunning look and it has excellent service network. Rajesh (November 20, 2011, 05:44)

I have used TVS scooty and Honda activa before,I just test drove a wego, wov, It was amazing. We have been using scooty for 12 years and it never went to workshop other than for the periodic service. I hope the same quality will be with wego too. Honda activa is also a nice vehicle but this new wego does everything better than the honda except the fuel efficiency. Honda is slightly better fuel efficent. But wegos ride and handling is much more better than the activa. It has bike like ride. I am attracted by the some of the features like external fuel lid, cell phone charger and larger alloy wheels. As both Honda and TVS have the reputation for quality and reliablity you will not go wrong with any of these two vehicle. Thanks.

After searching for a good scooter, i finally i bought Tvs wego. On road price in bangalore wego basic model white Rs.56750/-. I am simply enjoying riding this beauty. Previously i had Honda activa, it was just a crap. Riding wego is like riding an arabian horse. You will feel like a jockey. The power is amazing. It doesnt skid even if you apply brakes at sharp turnings on rainy days. Mileage is good around 45km. The shape is like a swan unlike activa which looks like a bulky duck. I am waiting for my Registration certificate which will be posted to my address within 40 days. The only thing it lacks is, space in front dickey. so i preferred model without front dickey. Dickey under the seat is very spacious just like in suzuki access. I didnt go for suzuki access because of its sack-like body and waiting period of 6 months in bangalore. My sincere suggestion to all you guys is just go for we-go.

Hi , I got Wego yesterday and the vehicle is noce and too smooth to ride . but the oly thing with which Iam nt satisfied is with the customer care . the extra fittings are not done immediately and there is a delay in delivering the tool kit , first aid box , rear view mirrors.... this can be seen by the company ...... Overall Wego is simply SUPERB.....

hi, i got wego since last 3 month, i am fully suffered by this product Please do not buy this vehicle, i bought this vehicle in Chandigarh. Now the battery is gone they told to replace it from a vendor. From starting it was having starting trouble, its useless to go for it, please buy another vehicle. TVS Wego is a very low quality product into the market.It has only 35 milage to compare other scooter.

dont go with wego as per my personnal exp.
read full comment at site. activa has good pick up,but pick up in starting mavement it vibrate after 3 month this is only one problem if you are adjust with it then go for activa; other scooter like mahinbdra has low milage 35 if you able to bear it go with aviator or rodio Akram Khan (March 30, 2011, 17:28)

hi, i got wego since last six month, i am fully suffered by this product ,take a look of my canclusions and persist problems
at first its engine is not fine at load+speed condition it get sound and vibation but same situation activa going to smooth second the front telescopic shock abs is very weak unable to take bump or speed breaker and get fully cose and sound khdkk..,if new scooter do this just think what the future, so i went the service center i look other model there was same problem in other model of wego, but boss activa mahindra,kine are not have this type problem. pike up is low then activa no alarm for side stand controling is good then activa mileage is 45 front space is not useful jut a burdon i am not satisfied from service center at kota they tell me one engineer come from tvs to solve shock upp problem and vibration pro but last two month no one come so i am fully harrassed with it i am going to sell or burn it wich is earliar so design is your after read this my expeeriance is that :fully west of money Akram Khan (March 30, 2011, 17:22)

Please do not buy this vehicle, i bought this vehicle 8 months back in hyderabad. Now the battery is gone they told to replace it from a vendor. From starting it was having starting trouble, its useless to go for it, please buy another vehicle even it takes time. TVS have released a low quality product into the market i can guarantee that.

I booked Honda Dio yesterday. But waiting period is minimum 6 months. This is the case in every showroom in my city. I am really passionate about honda vehicles but now honda waiting periods became very much longer....I enquired about TVS Wego availability..Its ready for delivery.. so now I am thinking to cancel the booking of dio and buy wego.

I recently bought Honda Dio after somuch thoughts, and definitely not regret, as Dio is a superb scooter, very good road grip and taller body and engine is also smooth with new graphics it looks pretty good, my mind was going for Access but becos of huge price diff., I finally bought Dio. I have TVS Scooty ES version too but always its belt cuts often if drive at little high spped and looks childish infront of Dio and even Wego still not much attractive.
