  • Excellent review done by writer. Long but all points there. Went to test drive car after reading the review.
Very good power but headroom is very less. PEPS system is very unique and very nice.
God for the price. How is the maintainance of car in long run. I want to buy the car but am still confused.

  • I bought the LT car ist week of jan.I am really excited about styling and stabilty on high speed. Although i enjoy my estilo while travelling local. Consumption seems to be around 15km/l. However i find little tight at driving seat.Tubolag and rear view is little pinching. The company unnecessary duped appr.20000/- of GPS becarefull while billing.

  • Well you right, its looks are hard to classify as one type or the other....for me its sort of the mix of an SX4 and a Civic....the bulk of an SX4 and the sporty sleek look of the Civic...But if you look long enough, it sort of even looks like a sporty elongated Skoda...guess all im trying to saying is thats its unique :)

I was blown away by the interiors...pretty amazing dash for a car in this segment...

  • QURAISH HAS GIVEN THOROUGH REVIEW PROVING CRUZE IS THE BEST ROBUST CAR THAN EVEN SKODA,VWJETTA,AND HONDA CIVIC.
IT'S A LUXURY SPORT CAR-LIKE YET ECONOMICAL.QURAISH BRINGS OUT VIVID ASPECTS SO CLEAR THAT ONE NEED NOT WAIT TO SEE THE CAR;JUST GO FOR IT !

  • @ Dr Rao

I agree sir that the review is a bit long, but I like to cover every aspect of the car. Also the car was lovely, so words just kept flowing.

    @ Raja / Dr BT

Ground clearance of 165 mm is quite sufficient for a car. Let me put that in perspective by comparing the ground clearances of some other vehicle
Skoda Octavia 134 mm Superb V6 139 mm
Skoda Fabia 149 mm VW Jetta 152 mm
Fiat Linea 161 mm Indigo Manza 165 mm
VW Polo 168 mm Ford Ikon 167 mm
Ford Fiesta 168 mm Swift DZire 170 mm
    Maruti A Star 170 mm
As you can see not only sedans, but even hatchbacks are close to the ground clearance of the Cruze. The Manza, with the Same Ground Clearance was tested in the City, on Highways, on Ghats and bad roads too but we had no major issue with the car bottoming out.
The Cruze was tested mainly on Highways but it also included around 400 kms of intercity driving (in Ahmedabad, Surat and Mumbai) and also close to 40 kms on Village road (if you could call them roads). Turbo Lag is irritating but not a big hindrance in Bumper to Bumper traffic as you don't require huge bursts of acceleration. Keep it in 1st or 2nd and you should be fine.

    @ Max

We've not had a chance to drive the automatic yet, but we'll try to do so shortly and give you an update. Whenever you're in Pune next gimme a buzz and we'll make some plan to meet up. Cheers !!

  • Great review. The only thing probably not covered are where the nuts and bolts are placed. I wonder how Quraish found so many words to keep writing. Love the Ferrari Start/Stop Button, Great idea to put it on there. The one on the cruze is too sad, but atleast you get the option. I am also looking to purchase the cruze shortly, could you tell me if the automatic has a similar lag issue.
I come to Pune regularly, can we meet up the next time I am there?

  • found high spirit, overwhembled, still there are kings in the market except GM,tired and lost by dumping the out dated stuffs, good signs reflecting with spark, beat and cruz, still attention needed, pls dont forget opel astra, vectra, optra price and 8 valve

  • It is clear that the reviewer has not tested the car in any small town.
If you live in an area where there are speed breakers you face two problems.
    1. You risk scraping the bottom due to the low ground clearance.
    2. You have to be fast at changing gears because just after the breaker the car threatens to stall even at First gear so you need to rev the engine to keep it on the boil. Then the turbo lag ensures that you have to wait for a couple of seconds before it picks up enough speed to shift to second. So if you have a series of breakers as in any small town or residential area, you are going to be constantly shifting gears and waiting for the turbo lag. Take it from me, it is not fun at all.
    3. If you are stuck in bumper to bumper traffic it is so difficult to control the speed because of the low end turbo lag. I constantly had the problem of the engine threatening to stall.
All in all, a wonderful car for the highway for the speed freaks but a loss as a city car.

  • Quite a comprehensive review. Really wanted to know more on the impact of 165mm ground clearance. 70% of my driving in Bangalore city with full of very unfriendly speed brakers.

  • Review is Good and Umrethi style.A little longish and it is trimmed it would be great. Keep always an upper limit and try to bring within that scale by going through your review many times. You must be remembering how we used to write Precis.
The fundamental trick is to bring down to one third the length. As you know one gets fatigued after reading a few paras and whatever one writes,it is skipped. The charm of writing is lost. To keep the flavour, always have 2500 words or any figure your top limit, and then scale down if it gets increased.
