Two months after Tata Safari Storme hit roads in New Delhi, the much awaited Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) has finally been launched in Maharashtra as well. Tata Motors launched the Safari Storme in Mumbai on December 11, 2012 with a base price tag of Rs. 9.95 lakhs.

Tata Motors Managing Director Karl Slym on the launch said, “In the (launch of) Tata Safari Storme, we once again demonstrate Tata Motors’ commitment to customer centricity. We were the first to introduce SUVs in India. We now leverage our experience and customer understanding, creating an ideal SUV for motorists, who desire a perfect combination of versatility and luxury.”

The SUV has been launched in four variants, which include LX, EX, VX (4x2 and 4x4). The Safari Storme is available in seven colours to choose from, which include sardinia red, urban bronze, pearl white, astern black, pearl champagne, arctic white and arctic silver.

Tata Safari Storme has an elegant exterior with a new front grille, refreshed headlights and fresh designs on the front fascia. Projector head lights, neatly chrome designed radiator grille, revamped front bumpers and oval fog lamps are some of the attraction of this new SUV from the stables of Tata Motors. On the interiors, the Safari Storme features comfortable seats, plenty of space and neatly designed dashboard in black and biege colour. Under the hood, the Safari Storme houses a 2.2L 16 Valve DOHC VTT VariCOR (Variable Turbine Technology) diesel engine that can churn out a maximum power of 138 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 320 Nm between 1700 and 2700 rpm.

The all new Safari Storme has a decent turning radius of 5.4 metres and ground clearance of 200 mm, which makes it suitable for off road driving conditions. Tata Motors provides a warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km, whichever is earlier, on the Safari Storme. This warranty can be extended up to 4 years or 1,50,000 km.
