The maximum power output of the petrol variants is 132 hp at 5600 rpm, whereas the torque generation capacity of the vehicle is 181 Nm at 4000 rpm.

On the other hand, the diesel variants are powered with a 16-valve DOHC Diesel engine which produces a maximum displacement of 2494 cc. The maximum power output of the vehicle is calculated as 102 hp at 3600 rpm and the torque generation capacity is 200 Nm at 1400-3400 rpm.

The 5-seater Toyota Innova consists of two variants- petrol and diesel having different engine configurations. The petrol variants are powered with a 4-cylinder in-line engine which produces a maximum displacement of 1998 cc. This facilitates the vehicle with an amazing pick-up and because of this, the vehicle can cross the 100 kmph mark in just 12.8 seconds. The top speed of the petrol variants is 179 kmph.

On the other hand, the engine configuration of the diesel variants is much more powerful than the petrol ones. Competitor Analysis

Toyota Innova has many competitors in the Indian market. The top competitor is the sports-utility vehicle from Mahindra, Scorpio. Mahindra Scorpio is the most popular SUV that has a robust and an aggressive look. The Scorpio is a dynamic car with advanced features.

The vehicle is powered by a 2.2 L mHawk diesel engine which produces a maximum displacement of 2179 cc. The engine of the car is packed with both 5-speed manual transmission gearbox and automatic transmission. The maximum power of the Scorpio is 120 hp at 4000 rpm.

Apart from a powerful diesel engine, the Mahindra Scorpio also has many comfort features. The pricing of the Mahindra Scorpio is between Rs. 7.4 Lacs- Rs. 12.4 Lacs, which is similar to the pricing of Toyota Innova.   

The second competitor is another car from Mahindra which is Xylo. The Mahindra Xylo is a multi-utility vehicle which is available in two types of engine- the mEagle CRDe diesel engine and the mDI CRDe diesel engine. The mEagle CRDe diesel engine produces a maximum displacement of 2498 cc whereas the mDI CRDe produces 2489cc.

The difference between these two engines also lies in their power generation as mEagle CRDe generates a maximum power of 112 hp, whereas the mDI CRDe generates a power output of 95 hp. The looks and the interior features are also very appealing of the Xylo. The Xylo is available in the price range between Rs 7.23 lacs and Rs 9.6 lacs.

Tata has also been a competitor for Toyota with its Tata Aria. The all new Tata Aria has the look of a sedan and the stylish features of an SUV. The vehicle comes powered with a 2.2 L, DICOR diesel engine which performs really well on the roads.

The Tata Aria has classy exteriors along with spacious and comfortable interiors. The price range of this vehicle lies between Rs. 11 lacs and Rs 15.8 lacs. 

Another competitor from Tata is the Tata Safari which gives a tough competition to Toyota Innova. The Tata Safari comes powered with a 2.2 L, 16 valve and a VTT DICOR engine which churns out a maximum power of 140 hp at the rate of 4000 rpm. The car with its powerful engine delivers an excellent performance on road. The price range of this Tata vehicle lies between Rs 8.08 lacs and Rs 12.5 lacs.

LPG/CNG Version

Toyota has also launched the new Toyota Innova in LPG fuel type in the Indian market. This means that the variants of Toyota Innova can be run on LPG fuel kits.
