Interior looks very very dul its worth 10lk

lacks the dashboard upliftment, in likes of XUV500. A better connectivity (bluetooth) along with navigatio screen and system would have made this a winner!!

Tata Merlin.. How different is it from Tata Safari? Again Tata will drag the tail lamp as it is one of its favourite designs. Tata really needs to hire design engineers else the day is not far when tata will vanish from the Car & SUV segment

tata safare is just big shit in front of xuv500 tata has all shitty engin shitty bushing cost and ya tata is jus giving the looks but ppl wnt power looks n good ngin but tata is not good in making all this u can say tata trucks r 2 good in terms of relible ngin n all but stl tata is 2 far frm m&m in terms of njin n all type of suv.tata ngins if u compare wth m&m 140 bhp tata ngin= 120 bhp of M&M

with every single other manufacturer of this segment trying to play with the same 2.2lt 140 bhp engine , i definitely feel that tata should plan on an improved 3.0lt engine with at least 160+ bhp , in order to be taken seriously by the fortuner and endeavour category buyers also , and not just that of scorpio , xuv500 , force one ,etc . i have been a devoted tata customer for the past 15 odd years , and i'd certainly hope that tata would do something about their current plans regarding the merlin .

I am a true fan of current Tata Safari and been hearing about new Merlin for more than a year. I have seen multiple speculation on it's launch date through out this year. Would Appriciate if you guys can end these speculation on Tata Merlin launch date and give us a final date of it's lunch.

The latest I got know its getting lunched in Jan 2012, during Delhi auto expos......? Again with my past experience I have my serious doubts on this too......

I have read someone wanting the TATAS to reduce the engine noise of safari dicor. I too wish the same as engine noise reaching the cabin during idling is not enjoyable on the contrary the engine noise during driving is appreciated.

We own Hyundai Verna for around four years now. We have been looking for a change. we got our eyes fixed on TATA SAFARI because of its seating height from ground level and simple but heads turning looks, but suddenly were disappointed to know that it is undergoing major changes. Am worried about its new looks, particularly after reading the reviews about its new looks. hope the new one too looks gr8. But I wud rather hope that the present tata safari will be continued. all that I need from the present safari is more better mileage, much better interiors particularly the plastics or the fiber parts i.e dash board and etc. I prefer Wider tyres - gives stability feeling because it generates a trust bond between me and my vehicle, trust bond means you'll enjoy riding the vehicle again and again. and some must technology like reverse / parking view in the mirror etc.

well ive waited for the "new" for an year now. but ive dropped the thought of it when i saw the XUV 500. I have my doubts wether tatas would be able to beat XUV 500's features and more importantly the price. the current top safari 4xd is 12.52lac(pune) whereas the xuv is 12.81lac and the xuv is generations ahead in technology and features.

I appriciate TATA`s efforts for the facelift of SUV.
I would suggest to review the following features for the new design.
- Turning radius,The turning radius is large causing the limitation of the vehicle on the Highways,
- Engine Noise- Engine noise seems to be high,when the engine at idling mode.
- Position of the Pedal- Position of the acceleration pedal,needs to be revisited for better ergonomics
- Cost of the vehicle- Please look at the possibility of reduction in the Cost of the Vehicle to increase the Sales Volume

Please Make 1.2 Dicor Diesel..Do change in tyre size15 to 16 inchies radial& Gear box-Bit smaller version name it Mini safari but average 20km/liter is required.this will be the hot selling vehicle of earth if Average 20KM/liter..Diesel..Enough cosmatic changes done make some technical value addition,to make India proud of efficient SUV/car..from TATA.Price may bekept Rs10-15lac on road from base to top model.This is Indian requirements 7/8 seater dieselvehicle

as a long time user of the tata safari , i have only a handful of things to say ...... unbelievable road presence , strong looks , decent power and affordability has always been the safari's strong points . but having said that i must also confess , that its about time that the safari got the next gen 3.0lt engine with at least about 160 bhp under the hood. even with a realistic increase in price , a lot of people would be more than keen on getting one ( obviously a decent price difference with the endeavour and fortuner should be maintained . tata should most certainly improve their service stations and quality of staff ...... specially the ones in kolkata are quite disappointing and availability of most spare parts is devastating.

Tata is a brand name in buses and trucks but tata day by day building up his quality. Tata safari have more muscular body as exisiting have and also very much hardwork required on engine refinement and maintainence. Handling and driving of the car should be more relable. Tata safari is one of the best SUV in indian market and we also feel proud beacuse this is indian make (TATA). So please lauch the facelift with all indian expectations.

Is there any plan to have an Auto Trans for the new Safari?
Safari makes different from other SUVs in India is the spare wheel on the tail gate. this resembles like Prado etc. all other SUVs spare wheel is underneath. It is much better to be at the tail gate and modify the body to be more muscular.

Tata should offer a fully loaded Safari with AT for the customers who wants. and keep the price tag of 7L for the normal manual ones.

It wud be nice to borrow some features from Land/Range Rovers for the Safari and make it more safe and attractive.

Giving look lIke fortuner from back is good also stepney placed inside bottom is great initiative to reduce length of vehicle especially required in metro city. Can bonet length too can be reduced 6 inches....More important if fuel consumption is reduced & average is 18-20km/lt,let technical persons too exercise brain for value additions may be slight reduced power of engine to optimise the fuel efficiency or operating cost.Defenately we then get most efficient vehicle of road ;thus reducing cost too on road Rs7lac....
thus would be most sellable cost effective of mellenium.....

The picture shown is that of tata aria. Boss this is SUV, u cant expect these kind of vehicles to give 20KMP lt. Look at ford endeavour it gives only 5 KMP lt.

i am impresed with ARIA`s interior and now looking for a better interior for safari which is expected any way as TATA has Jaguar team who has worked for ARIA interiors. This time TATA is giveing a face lift to safari like LAND ROVER so i m too exited to have a look on that i am about to buy fortuner but its waiting period is nearly 1 year so if safari is cuming in new AVATAR i will again go for it even though i have one.

i am surprised to c people are more worried about the safari milage than its other things and are even suggesting the sales will increase is mileage is increased. I am really sorry folk but if u looking for average than better go for Nano aur maruti 800 they have best average as Safari is the biggest selling car in india in SUV segment i am expecting it with more power and better looks than eairler, average is not my concern as i m driving it since i learned driveing from last 9 years and i still am in love with it.

Its is Good news that safari is having the Face Lift, The Other area's Which needs to be Improved,

Interiors- The finish in the current models is below Average. Its needs Fine Fit and finish. The Clips that hold the ceiling need to be replaced, it tends to become fragile and breaks with aging. The need to be replaced. The WOOD GRAIN- currently of poor quality. Focus on the ERGONOMICS is required

NVH- The NVH need to be taken care.

The Steering Size- The Steering size need to be reworked, The current size is small, Being the SUV should have Bulky and robust Looks,
