Tata Marina is a station wagon that was unveiled in India in 2004 and discontinued in 2010. It was reminiscent of the original Indigo and had a spacious rear cabin instead of the boot that Tata's sedan had. During its stay in India, the car was available in two petrol-driven and three diesel-fuelled variants.

Further, the petrol version of this car is powered by 1405 cc MPFI Petrol Engine with 16-bit microprocessor, which provides maximum power of 83.84 hp at 6000 rpm. The torque generated is 107.8 Nm at 3000 rpm. Like the Indigo sedan, the  Tata  Marina car is built on the same extended wheel base. To provide excessive power, the long roof of the car is grooved and the high roof drops to the back. Pillar less tail of this car matches with the front section. For better braking  performance, large servo has been provided. The interiors of this car is extremely impressive and can attract any luxury car lover. At the backside of the car, there is sufficient luggage space provided. On the roof, a storage box and couple of pockets are also provided. 

The appearance of the interior is enhanced by the nice leather-covered gear knobs, stalks and steering wheel. Door pads and the centre console leaves of Tata Marina are manufactured using fine quality plastic. At the back side of the car, 50 mm space is provided due to which there is no problem for rear passengers.  Seven variants of Tata Indigo Marina are provided such as Tata Marina GSX (New), Tata Marina GLX (New),  Tata Marina LX Dicor, Tata Marina LX TD1 (New) Marina LS TD1 (New), Tata Marina SX TD1 (New) and Tata Marina GLS (New).  The price of these models varies as per inbuilt features and fuel type. Tata Marina Launch History: 

In 2004, the Tata Marina was launched by India's automobile company Tata Motors. A perfect combination of luxury and usage, the Tata Marina was welcomed by family customers. It is powered with 1.4L Inline-4 turbocharged, 69 bhp, Diesel engine. The engine of Tata Marina provides mileage of 12.3 kmpl in city and 16.1 kmpl on highways. It comes with power steering, door mirrors and body coloured bumpers.

Tata Indigo Marina LX.

Tata Indigo Marina LX Dicor is loaded with  1.4L Inline-4 turbocharged, 69 bhp, Diesel engine, which makes it a fuel efficient car. This luxury variant can attain top speed of 157 kmph. Price may vary as per the margin kept by the dealer. There is also difference of Tata Marina price among cities. Some price difference may also occur due to the inbuilt features.

 

Tata Marina Review:               

At the estate segment, the Marina is the second attempt of Tata. The front side of Tata Marina is similar to that of Indigo. Large boot space is provided to make the car spacious. The tail lamps and the lack pillars of the car is quite impressive. The dials of this car is provided with classy chrome finish. Offered in both petrol and diesel version,  Tata Marina provides freedom of choice to the buyers. The engine capacity of the petrol and the diesel version is 14 litres. Diesel engine of this car  provides mileage of 12.3 kmpl in city and 16.1 kmpl on highways. The petrol engine is however inferior to the diesel in terms of mileage. For heavy riders, the independent suspension is a boon. Even though, the brakes of this car are good enough but these tend to skid it often. The gear shift of Tata Marina car is noisy  and hence can be called a drawback. 

Front seat of this car is limited but sufficient enough for the passengers. Due to this feature, the rear seat space of the car is increased. In the back seat of the Marina Car, three adults can comfortably seat. For easy loading, the lip at the rear is too high. Furthermore, a folding parcel box and a net in the boot are also provided. The seat belts and central locking facilities provide maximum security. To a hatchback, Indigo Marina proves to be a suitable alternative. To provide tough competition to Maruti Baleno and Fiat Weekender, the  Tata Marina was launched. The price of Marina is much less compared to Baleno and Weekender. This car from the house of Tata also faces tough competition from  Hyundai Accent, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Chevrolet Aveo.
