Overview
To recapture the Indian automobile market, Tata Motors has introduced an entirely new design in its sedan range, as Tata Indigo Manza. It features an innovatively built external design, a changed engine and gearbox along with improved interiors and contemporary features. Indigo Manza has been precisely engineered and is known for being spacious enough to suit the needs of large Indian families. While designing this car, every bit of the space like the under-seat storage, has also been has utilised. Tata Indigo Manza comes with two engine options, namely the 1.4L Safire90 (petrol) and 1.3L Quadrajet90 (diesel).
The Tata Indigo Manza has been designed with a new engine and a platform based on but different from a stretched Indica Vista. This car has been designed based on Tata X1 platform, which was showcased by Tata Motors during the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, as Elegante Concept. Tata has articulately re-innovated the engine and redesigned the gear ratios for this new model. Further, Tata Indigo Manza also features ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and airbags to enhance the safety.
Tata Indigo Manza is available in five variants like Aura, Aqua, Aura (ABS), Aura Plus and ELAN. All these variants are known for their attractive features like outdoor temperature sensor, bluetooth connectivity, power outlets for charging laptops and other mobile devices. Launch History
In order to introduce more sophisticated car than the other models of Tata, Indigo Manza was launched on October 14th, 2009. Developed and designed on the basis of J300 platform of the former model Tata Indica Vista, this car was launched in the Indian market in segment C. With an aim to phase out the existing Tata Indigo model, Tata Indigo Manza was provided with increased width and length as compared to the already existing version of Tata Indigo. At the time of its launch, this car was priced between Rs.4.8 lac and Rs.6.75 lac.
Variants (Models)
Tata Indigo Manza is a variant on the basis of Tata X1 platform. Tata Motors has launched varied models in India like Aqua, Aura, Aura (ABS) and the Aura Plus. A confirmation has been made by Tata Motors that these models will not spawn other variants like in the previous generation. Moreover, a new model named Tata Indigo Manza ELAN has been launched on 7th Feb, 2011. This new model is based on the compact sedan version of Indigo Manza.
