Engine & Specifications of the Mercedes SLK

As mentioned above the Mercedes Benz SLK Class model is available in three different engine variants. First one among them is the SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR model that carries a petrol 1796 cc petrol engine which is capable of delivering an impressive power of 184 hp at 5500 rpm with a torque of 250 Nm at 2800-5000 rpm. The variant is available with both 6 Speed Manual Transmission and 5 Speed Automatic Transmission.

Second is the Mercedes Benz SLK 350 variant that comes powered by a 3498 cc petrol engine which can give a peak power of 305 hp at 6500 rpm with a maximum torque of

360 Nm at 4900 rpm. The variant is available in both 6 Speed Manual Transmission and 7G TRONIC transmission.

The third SLK variant is the Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG that carries a 5439 cc engine with delivers an impressive peak power of 360 hp at 5750 rpm and a peak torque of

510 Nm at 4000 rpm. The model comes incorporated with AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G- Tronic Transmission.

Performance of the Mercedes SLK

The SLK 200 KOMPRESSOR and SLK 350  variants of the Mercedes SLK take just 7.9 seconds and  7.39 seconds respectively to break the speed barrier of 100 km/hr. The highway mileage of these two models is 11.2 kmpl and 10.1 kmpl respectively. The SLK 55 AMG engine of the car offers an impressive mileage of 6 kmpl in the city and 9.0 kmpl on highways.
