Maruti Versa
The Maruti Versa is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) which was launched in the Indian market in year 2001. With ample space inside, the Versa model carries a seating capacity of 8 people. After selling its Omni MUV successfully, Maruti launched its Versa with the expectation of meeting the same success in the Indian market. The Versa is a practical car that has been developed to cater to all of the basic needs and requirements of the large Indian families.
The Versa is available in three variants including a standard five-seater version, DX1 8-seater and DX2 8-seater. All variants of the Versa come powered by the same 1.3L petrol engine. The Maruti Versa has been one of the most preferred cars in its segment, offering high utility. Be it a large family or a small business owner, the Versa offers considerably high utility for a range of purposes.
The Versa further delivers a high fuel economy and has a very low carbon emission level. However, at present the car has been discontinued by the company in the Indian market.
Engine & Specifications of the Maruti Versa
As mentioned, the Maruti Versa model is powered by a 1.3L inline engine which is a 4-Stroke Cycle, all-Aluminum Water-Cooled SOHC engine. It uses the MPFI (multi point fuel injection) technology that not only makes the engine more cleaner but also reduces the fuel consumption considerably. The 1.3L engine of the car is capable of delivering a peak power of 82 bhp @ 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 102 Nm @ 3000 rpm. The car is equipped with a manual transmission with 5-Forward, all-Synchromesh, 1-Reverse, gear system. While the front suspension system of the car is McPherson Strut with Torsion type Roll Control, the system used at rear is Coil Spring with three Link Rigid Axle and Isolated Trailing Arms.
