Hyundai Getz
The Hyundai Getz is one of the oldest premium hatchbacks in the Indian market and was launched in the country in the starting of this millennium. The Getz model has always been appreciated for its high performance and spacious interiors.
The Getz had been launched in the price range of sub Rs 5 lakh where it has been competing with the likes of Maruti Swift and Chevrolet Aveo U-Va. The car was available in both petrol and diesel variants in the Indian market. Powered by a 1.3L SOHC engine, the petrol version Hyundai Getz model has been among the most preferred car models of this segment. On the other hand, the diesel version of the car carries a 1.5L CRDi engine.
The Hyundai Getz model has won a number of prestigious awards throughout the globe including the 'Transport for London GreenFleet Award' for the best economy car in 2006 and the 'Best Small Car' in Australia in 2005. However, the car was discontinued in the 13 major cities in the Indian market in April 2010, after the government of India applied new BS-IV emission norms in the 13 major cities of the country.
Engine & Specifications of the Hyundai GetzAs mentioned above, the Getz model is available in both petrol and diesel variants in the Indian market. The Getz was available in two petrol versions including 1.1L In-line and 1.3L In-line engine. While the 1.1L engine of the car is capable of delivering a peak power of 65 bhp, the 1.3L engine of the car delivers a maximum power of 82bhp. On the other hand, the diesel version of the Getz is available with a 1.5L CRDi engine that delivers a peak power of 108 bhp at 4000 rpm along with a peak torque of 235 Nm at 2750 rpm. All variants of the Getz carry a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.

The car not only delivers a considerably high fuel economy but also offers a dependable performance no matter what the road conditions are. While the petrol version of the car delivers a fuel economy in the range of 10 to 14 kmpl, the diesel version of the car delivers a fuel economy of 12 to 16 kmpl. Moreover, the features like double action hydraulic shock absorbers in the front and the gas shock absorbers in the rear, and power-assisted hydraulic steering wheel offer an impressive performance on road.
