The Honda CR-V is a luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) that comes blessed with a range of off-road capabilities. The compact SUV carries a perfect amalgamation of  comfort, styling and performance. The CR-V model was first introduced in the Indian market in year 2007 and since then it has been one of the best sellers in its segment.

The CR-V model is available in both two and four wheel drive versions and carries two engine options including a 2.0L and a 2.4L petrol engine. The car is available in three trims including LX, the EX and the EX-L.

The major attractions of the CR-V model include front seat-mounted side airbags, front and rear seat side air curtains, antilock brakes, brake assist, front seat active head restraints, and Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control 

The CR-V model is available in the price range of Rs 22,20,000 - Rs 24,40,000, where it is fighting for space with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva, Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan X-Trail and recently launched BMW X1. In a bid to enhance the competitiveness of CR-V series in the Indian
market, the company is gearing-up to launch a diesel version of the car in the country by the end of year 2011.

Engine & Specifications of Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V model comes with two engine options including a 2.0L and a 2.4L engine. The 2.0L,1997 cc i-VTEC is capable of delivering a peak power of 143PS at 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 190 Nm at 4200 rpm. On the other hand, the high powered variant sports a 2.4L, 2354 cc i-VTEC mill that can deliver a peak power of 161 PS at 5800 rpm and peak torque of 218 Nm at 4200 rpm. While the 2.0L version comes mated with two wheel drive, the 2.4L engine comes coupled with a realtime four-wheel drive system.
