The all new Chevrolet Volt from the house of General Motors is a promising new generation hybrid car. Chevrolet has no immediate plans to bring the model to India this year but the model is definitely planned to compete in the hybrid car segment looking at the encouraging response received for Toyota Prius in the Indian car market.

The car is a hatchback model and has stunning looks and impressive interiors. So far, the design of the car shows a fresh concept at work, from the slope of the roof to the window shape. The interiors of the car provide spacious accommodation for four and are fitted with quite a few luxury features. The car also sports features like star mobile application which enables the user to perform many functions through a smart phone.

The car battery of Chevrolet Volt gets fully charged in only eight hours in normal voltage of 120 and the charging time is reduced to just three hours if the car is put on voltage of 240V. In addition to that, the car will be fitted with a 4-cylinder engine which has fuel capacity of 1.4 liters.

The car has a number of safety features and is an all round performer. The model is expected by the end of 2011.

Car companies like Nissan should launch e cars like Nissan Leaf in fuel cost conscious country like India. it could start a new auto revolution like the mobile revolution,if priced right. unfortunately we have either too lowly models like Reva or too costly models like Prius and Volt is going to join the same bandwagon!!!!down with the morons.

electric car idea is good.but the price tag is quite high.it is foolishness to spend rs.20 lakh for an ecar.instead v can buy a good petrol car for rs.4lakh and fill petrol for the bank interest v get on balance 15 lakh.
