Chevrolet Tavera Overview 

Chevrolet launched Tavera in the year 2004 and has been able to sell its vehicle in abundance in the country. Chevrolet Tavera has upped the ante among Multi Utility Vehicles (MUVs) with its combination of space, pleasant looks and a well-sorted chassis. Although the car has not been able to distinguish itself as a real lifestyle car, it has served as a true family car.

Moreover, the LS-B3 and LS-B4 models do not have features such as wooden finish on instrument panel and floor console.

Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 LS 

The first variant is the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 LS, which is powered by a 2.5 L Direct injection Turbo diesel engine and it produces maximum power of 79 hp at 3900 rpm. The torque generation capacity of this vehicle has been measured around 186 Nm at 1800 rpm. Moreover, this car is backed by a 5-speed manual transmission system for a smooth driving experience. Talking about the exteriors, the Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 LS consists of a radiator grille chrome finish which looks very classy. It also consists of an aluminium side step on the exterior side of the car. 

From the inside, the vehicle has been given a decent look with the spacious seating arrangement ensuring the comfort of passengers. The rear ride of the vehicle consists of semi-elliptical leaf spring suspension. The company provided attractive interiors to the inside of the vehicle as the instrument panel has been kept of beige colour. Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 SS 

Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 SS, the third variant of Tavera's second generation, is considered as the topmost model. Apart from the similar technical specifications, the new Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 SS consists of distinctive exterior and interior features. The exteriors of the vehicle consist of all modern features like 2 tone exterior paint, alloy wheels, aluminium side setup, body graphics, front fog lamp and radiator grille chrome finish.

On comparing these two cars, both the vehicles seem to be equals in terms of performance and looks, but Chevrolet Tavera exceeds the other one in terms of pricing. On the eve of the launch of the Chevrolet Tavera, Rajiv Chhaba, COO of GMIL stated "The Tavera is a new age multi-purpose vehicle that will be powered by a 2.5-litre Isuzu turbo diesel engine”. He also added that “the Tavera will take on the Toyota Qualis and the Mahindra Scorpio".

Chevrolet Tavera Competitor Analysis 

Toyota Innova is one of the most popular MUVs (Multi Utility Vehicle) in the Indian market and gives close competition to Chevrolet Tavera. Innova offers excellent handling and drive quality with its elegant interiors, additional advanced features and generous cabin space. 

The Toyota Innova comes in two versions – petrol and diesel. The petrol version of Toyota Innova is powered with a 16-Valve DOHC VVT-i petrol engine that produces maximum power of 131 hp at 5600 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel version of Toyota Innova comes with a 16-Valve DOHC diesel engine which produces a maximum power of 101 hp  at 3600rpm. Innova has a certain advantage over the Tavera as it is also available in CNG version, while the latter is not. The pricing of the Toyota Innova has been kept more than that of Tavera, which can be a plus point for Chevrolet's MUV.
