Overall Evaluation of the BMW 6-Series

Germany based leading car maker BMW had launched a new upgraded version of 6 Series model in year 2008 with a few cosmetic changes at the exterior and interior. The 6 Series is among the most preferred model in the sports coupe and convertible category. The 6 Series model is available in two engine options including 3.0 Liter 6-cylinder engine and a 4.8 Liter V-8 engine.

The BMW 6 is blessed with revolutionary Valvetronic technology that replaces the traditional throttle with a system which alters the timing and aperture of the engine's valves to regulate air and fuel intake. The new technology not only enhances the air inflow in the engine but also enhances the performance and fuel economy.

The BMW 6 Series model is available in the price segment of Rs 79,70,000 to Rs 87,90,000 (ex-showroom New Delhi) where it is competing with the likes of Audi A8. Moreover, the car comes blessed with BMW on-board navigation system with voice feedback, voice activation, and real time traffic information as an option. In addition to this, the Active Roll Stabilization ensures dynamic and safe performance with level cornering. Engine & Specifications of the BMW 6-Series

As mentioned above, the BMW 6 Series model is available in two engine options. The first one is a 3.0 Liter 6-cylinder engine that is capable of delivering a peak power of 272hp. On the other hand, the 4.8 Liter V-8 engine of the car generates a maximum power of 367hp. The car is blessed with  the revolutionary Valvetronic technology that replaces the traditional throttle with a system. The powerful engine of BMW 6 Series model incorporates a six speed automatic transmission.

Being a super luxury segment car, the BMW 6-Series model comes loaded with a range of performance boosting features including revolutionary Valvetronic technology that allows the engine to breathe better which in turn saves gas, and increases the performance, Double-VANOS that offers precision adjustment of the timing of intake and outlet camshafts of the engine, Active Roll Stabilization, BMW on-board navigation with voice activation, voice feedback and real time traffic information.

Moreover, the iDrive  technology offered in the 6-Series controls settings on a console mounted button and monitor. It displays a number of information such as cabin temperature, navigation and communication. The 4.8L engine of the car takes just 5.6 seconds to break the speed barrier of 100 km/hr.

Exterior, Interior and Safety Features of the BMW 6-Series

The new version of BMW 6 Series that was launched in the Indian market in year 2008, carries a number of cosmetic changes. Both variants of the 6 Series model are blessed with Dakota leather upholstery and door trim with Ruthenium pearl-gloss interior trim. The front seats of the car are eight-way power adjustable and come equipped with four-way lumbar support.
