Nano Diesel -LX model should have Mobile Charger connectivity also Mileage meter Trip wise and at least entry level music system with FM radio..also rear power windows. Presently Clutch -Brake and accelerator height from the foot board is much..that should be reduced in Diesel model

With this modification, NANO will look more elegant and will be more aero- dynamic.If some how engine could have been lodged infront (instead of its current rear position), NANO will be the MASTER of the market.There will be none to beat it.I request Mr. Ratan Tata to continue at least with Tata Motors to give shape to his dreams.

I knew the diesel engine was coming for TATA NANO, way back in 2009. That time i was staying in Bangalore, very near to Bosch. Good, now i will buy one.

If you adjust the front seat ,I think U can drive comfortably. Easily one can travel 150km/day without any stopping. It is sine 3 yrs I have bought TATA NANO LX. I have already clocked 26000Kms and till date absolutely no problem if one rperiodically services the car.

I have i10 Magna and I test drive my friend's Nano 2012 CX. I really love this car, especially in city traffic. I dont want to compare i10 & Nano - both r in different segment. But I will buy Nano diesel for sure! Nano for daily use & i10 for comfort and long drive!!!

The idea is great but but you have raise the top speed up to 140 minimum with turbo engine and you have to make the vehicle little bit longer and you have to change the head light style

You're exactly right sir. I too argue the same with people who tease it as an autorikshaw. Infact, the auto which has no doors and with three wheels actually costs 1.5lacs!!!! If some company like VW launched the same car with same quality, will all these people criticize it the same way they are now???? They look upon it coz its an Indian company. Shame on them.

So many of them have given their comments here and its nice to read all the comments. Some are for Nano and some are against it.
1. Quality issue: TATA may not have a very high quality, they are comparable with Maruti Suzuki. We cant have a car meeting the standards of Honda or Volkswagon and ask for a low price.
2. Mileage: Excellent compared to others in similar segment. Everyone who owns a two wheeler dreams of a car, but the question is not just of initial investment but running cost and here Nano Diesel is a plus.
3. Comfort: Nano is for city driving, every day use and for small family. Its quite comfortable for four.
4. Safety: 3 Nano got burnt is a big issue because people had high expectations. Its only 3 out of the few lakhs that is sold. Have you ever checked how many Maruti got burnt, how many cars made by big players were recalled due to safety issues? In terms of that this is nothing, its not to pinpoint failures but to look at the brighter aspects of it. Nano has passed many safety and crash tests before being launched.
5. Technology: have you every wondered how many patents does a car really have? Tata Nano has the highest number of patents for a single car.
6. Price: Initially said to be one lakh and finally ends 2 lakhs - have you ever wondered what is the cost of raw materials when TATA announced nano and what it is now? what is the taxes that the govt. is charging on a car? Some of the features given in Nano is not even available in i10 let along Alto.
finally, have you ever thought what effort goes into designing a car and getting it to be a product

TaTa Nano Good Loking car but the car sound is like auto,and the company was saying 1 lack but on road it was near by 2 lack,so marut alto is better for this blady nano..

i have a nano which my family is using in the village where virtually we have no roads and you cannot drive above 3rd gear bcoz of that
so i feel its a perfect car and all those who say bad does not have logical point to support it!!

What Tata bring out does not matter, but what money will be pumped into after 5 years is the matter of concern. Will the fuel efficient Nano run for 5 years without hassles?

i belongs to delhi ncr and have to travel approx 80~ 90 km/ day hence i had planned to grab nano diesel, yet my collegous says it's not good to have as for so much daily run it's life will end soon and its maintenance could create trouble to me. any guidlines pl.

It is a history that TATA vechiles has never been successfull after the first launch. Nano petrol is also the same. Hope the diesel version becomes successfull at one Launch. They need to open the rear bonet for engine repair. It is required for Indian condition. The rear opening will help reduce the wiring burnt accidents & also make repair easy.

The only problem I face in the Tata Nano is servicing the car engine. It is very difficult to work on the engine removing the rear seat. I request the designers to at least the back should be able to open to service the engine, otherwise the technicians suffer lioke anything in the summer or hot climate...
